⁶ God said, “Let there be an expanse^[a] between the waters, and let it separate the water from the water.” ⁷ God made the expanse, and he separated the water that was below the expanse from the water that was above the expanse, and it was so. ⁸ God called the expanse “sky.” ^[b]There was evening and there was morning—the second day.
